The Lord’s Prayer 30 Day Challenge: Day #12 Amens with Integrity!

It is a word not included in all translations of the Bible in The Lord’s Prayer yet has been identified as one of the best known words in human speech. It is a universal word.

We say it so casually and yet it has so much meaning in Christian faith.

It means “so be it” or “may it be fulfilled” when said at the end of a prayer.

Amen is a word that with the right heart is the seal of belief when we communicate to God.

Amen is all-assuming when it is spoken by one person representing an entire community; so, whether silent or audible to the ear is there ever a time I shouldn’t say it?

And I wonder, am I uttering silent “Amens!” when I let something be that shouldn’t?

Amen should not be so casual as the exclamation point at the end of our prayers!

And so, is my final response to The Lord’s Prayer an “Amen!” with integrity?
