The Lord’s Prayer 30 Day Challenge: Day #7 Our Daily Bread

This morning I had tears as I read and prayed The Lord’s Prayer.

It was with joy I placed the money in an envelope for the offering, but also with faith – it was more than the usual. I don’t say this out of pride but to share what God has done.

Leaving my former employer, I knew there would be huge financial sacrifices for our family but it was a necessary transition in order for me to follow the convictions God had placed on my heart. My husband and I gave up more than half of our income when I resigned and since moving to Vegas his income had decreased by 10K per year as well due to the economic downturn not long after we bought our home. Ok God, “Give us this day our daily bread.” Don’t get me wrong, we are far from destitute (after being in Haiti following the earthquake I know what that looks like), but the amount I gave back to God was given with a prayer Sunday morning, “God we’re trusting you to provide.”

The next day God answered a prayer that I had been praying for quite some time each morning. Yesterday morning I spoke it out loud to my friend and her and her husband prayed as well for the same thing. Yesterday afternoon the answer came.

God once again provided “Our Daily Bread!” It may not have been a whole loaf but it was enough for the day and that is all we need.

Don’t stop praying my friends! Don’t stop praying!

  1. “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, but he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” 2Cor. 9:6. The perfect picture of what happened to you. God wants to pour His blessings into our lives, but our capacity to receive depends on our willingness to be a channel of blessings to others. He is more than enough!!
